Today we’ll look at our second installment in a series of articles detailing car insurance discounts by company (Allstate auto insurance discounts was our first).

We decided to go with Mercury Insurance Group, which has a large presence in California. So the discounts below are aimed mainly at California drivers.

Independent agents can help you get quotes from Mercury Insurance and other car insurance companies. Be sure to ask them about any specific discounts that may apply to you. This way, you can get the most out of your auto insurance policy without overpaying.

How can you choose the insurance company that meets your needs?

As with any other insurer-specific post, please contact your insurance agent or the insurance company directly to ensure the discounts above apply to your unique situation or in your state. Depending on the state you live in, you might benefit from additional coverages. It may even vary based on your neighborhood.

Some drivers are more concerned about making sure their personal property is protected from theft while others worry about comprehensive coverage. For example, if you live on a street with a bunch of large trees or in an area with a high occurrence of natural disasters like hurricanes or earthquakes, you’d want to make sure your comprehensive coverage limits are up to par.

Not every discount is available in each state and individual discount percentages may vary by the state in which you reside. Insurers also set your rates based on risks you may not be aware of.

Also note that insurance companies are constantly tweaking their rates based on their results, so these discounts could be changing as we speak.

And if we missed one, let us know!
